Permissions

All permissions start with cobaltstaff. and follow the module concerned (cobaltstaff.bans.…, cobaltstaff.reports.…, cobaltstaff.vanish.…).

Player permissions

Only the core permissions are declared in plugin.yml; the others are granted to operators by default. Remember to explicitly give your players the basic permissions (report, open a ticket, view their sanctions, appeal), see the per-rank example.

Staff hierarchy

Ranks are declared in config.yml, from lowest to highest:

A staff member’s rank is the highest cobaltstaff.rank.<name> they hold. A staff member can only ban, mute, kick, warn, freeze or examine a player of a strictly lower rank, or without a rank. The console is never restricted. For an offline player, the rank is read through LuckPerms.

Limits and cooldowns

Duration limits

A limit caps the duration a staff member can give. The highest value found wins; <prefix>.* (or cobaltstaff.*) removes any limit.

Cooldowns

A cooldown is given by the cobaltstaff.<command>.cooldown.<duration> permission. The shortest value found wins; without a permission, no cooldown.
