Installation

  1. Stop the server.

  2. Copy CobaltiaAnnonces.jar into the server’s plugins/ folder.

  3. Add the optional plugins if you need them: WorldGuard (region zones), PlaceholderAPI (placeholders in announcements) and Nexo (frame glyphs). They are soft dependencies: CobaltiaAnnonces loads after them when present and works without them.

  4. Start the server. The plugins/CobaltiaAnnonces/ folder is created with a sample annonces.json.

  5. Check the console: if the file contains an error, the plugin reports it at startup (see below).

  6. Edit annonces.json, then apply your changes in game with /annonces reload, without restarting.

File Purpose
annonces.json The whole configuration: title, frames, announcements, zones, rotations and entries. Created once; never overwritten afterwards.
etat.json On/off state of each rotation. Written by the plugin on reload, on every rotation toggle and on server shutdown. You do not need to edit it.

The sample file contains two frames (simple and simple_petit), two test announcements, two sample zones (spawn by WorldGuard region, exemple_cube by coordinates), two rotations that are off, and one zone entry. Nothing is broadcast automatically until you turn a rotation on.

Behavior without the optional dependencies

Section titled “Behavior without the optional dependencies”
  • Without WorldGuard: region zones never contain any player. Rotations targeting them reach nobody and their entries never fire. Cube zones are unaffected.
  • Without PlaceholderAPI: %…% placeholders are shown as-is.
  • Without Nexo: <glyph:…> tags are not turned into glyphs. In that case, use unframed announcements, or frames and a title written as MiniMessage text.
