I changed actif in the file, but the rotation does not change state

Section titled “I changed actif in the file, but the rotation does not change state”

Each rotation’s on/off state is saved in etat.json and takes precedence over actif, which only applies to a never-saved rotation. Use /annonces rotation <id> on or off, or left-click the rotation in the menu.

The whole file is validated and any single error rejects it; the previous configuration then stays active. Chat shows the first ten errors, the console shows all of them. Each error gives the faulty path (annonces.vote.lignes, rotations[2].cible…). Common causes:

  • malformed JSON: extra or missing comma, unclosed quotes, comments;
  • reference to an id that does not exist (misspelled frame, announcement or zone);
  • wrong duration format: write 5m, not 5 min;
  • an announcement with no line, or a rotation with no announcement;
  • two rotations with the same id.

The plugin started without any announcement

Section titled “The plugin started without any announcement”

The file was invalid at startup: the errors are listed in the console. Fix them, then run /annonces reload, without restarting.

Check that WorldGuard is installed, that monde is the exact name of the region’s world and that region is the exact region id. To check detection, open the menu, choose an announcement, then Une zone…: the number of players inside each zone is shown there.

That is the anti-repeat delay: the same player does not receive it again until delai_par_joueur has elapsed (30 minutes by default). Shorten it for testing; it is reset when the server restarts.

  • It may be off: check its color on the menu’s Rotations screen.
  • Its target may be empty: an automatic send with no recipient is skipped.
  • The first send only happens one full interval after startup, reload or activation. Use /annonces rotation <id> maintenant to test it.

Glyphs are rendered by Nexo from the resource pack. Check that Nexo is installed, that the glyphs exist and that the player accepted the pack. Without a suitable pack, use unframed announcements.

Centering measures characters of the standard Minecraft font and the glyphs known to the plugin. An unknown character is counted with an average width, which can shift the line slightly. Also check that the frame’s largeur matches its real width in pixels.

No: system messages are built in, in French. Announcement content, however, is entirely up to you.

Does the plugin provide placeholders or an API?

Section titled “Does the plugin provide placeholders or an API?”

No. CobaltiaAnnonces uses PlaceholderAPI placeholders inside announcements, but does not expose any, and provides no API for other plugins.
